Up early. Tea for the cold. Take down tent, pack, off again. Pass group from the Hall Mountain Shelter, Take a break with nice views of the south arm of Richardson Lake, nearby peaks. Push on over Moody Mountain, lunch by Sawyer Brook. Cross South Arm Road, begin climb up Old Blue Mountain. Meet day hikers, then a trail crew. Talk long. Mike from PA. catches up. We hike up to the peak. I laze in the sun, Mike takes off. Finally, I hike on up and down through lush forest with some bogs to the Elephant Mountain Lean-to. Stay there with Mike from PA. and Eddie from CT. Talk, crash to tunes on my solar radio.
