Up at 6 a.m., Leonard and I hike out and up Bunker Hill. Jerry Huntsberger from Ohio passes us. We pass Bunker Hill cemeteries. Road walk to West Hartford, across the White River, Stop for food and drink at the local store. Hike on up into the woods, catch Boater Bill, hike to the Happy Hill Cabin, the oldest shelter on the A.T. and a real dump. Hike down past Norwich, cross noisy I-91 and the Connecticut River into New Hampshire.
Up a hot road into ritzy Hanover, home of Dartmouth College. We hike to the post office. Repack, Find Fly, Jack and Boater Bill and parlay in the square. Set up at Bob Flanigan's apartment. Leonard met Flanigan near Manchester. Down to all you can eat spot for beer and pasta.
