Journey Day 291 | AT Day 114

Weather worsening above a reflective pond.

7/20/86
Great freshly caught native brook trout for breakfast with our new friends. Then Jack and I leave Chapman's camp. Bad weather again. Hard rain. We stop for a long break at Minerva Hinchey Shelter, but push on in downpour. Lost after shelter. Slippery descent. Take a bad fall, but I'm OK. Hike down to Clarendon Gorge, cross the Mill River Bridge, then up to the Clarendon Shelter. After dinner, we crash early, tired from lack of sleep the night before and the rigors of the day's hike.
