Journey Day 288 | AT Day 111

Hike down to the road, catch a ride into Manchester, VT. Hit the Episcopal hostel. Shower, eat a $9 breakfast at the Quality, a pub dating back to the 1920’s.  Hit the laundry, make calls, talk with a hiker named Fly. Back to the hostel, where we meet Leonard Adkins (with whom I  hiked the Continental Divide Trail in 1987) and Michael P. Jones (with whom I later climb Katahdin at the end of the A.T.). Big gang at the hostel. We eat, Jack makes spaghetti, we watch a movie, then head back to the Quality for too many John Courages.
