Bogs in Massachusetts and Vermont were traversed on boardwalks.

Rain wakes us and continues on and off throughout the day. More boggy walking, but the weather’s clearing as we reach Goddard Shelter on Glastenbury Mountain and enjoy great views. After a break at the shelter, we hike on up to its fire tower for great 360 degree views back to Mt. Greylock, on ahead into the Green Mountains. Push down through forest, around beaver ponds, in bogs, to the Story Spring Shelter and a great spring.
