Looking down onto southern Massachusetts from the Appalachian Trail.

After a good rest and visit at my brother’s Bob’s Groton home, he dropped Jack and me back in Dalton. We packed, mailed, then headed up the street to the Dalton Diner for one last meal.

Then we hike out of town, back onto the trail, reunited on the trail again after a few days in Groton. What a relief. Nice hike through the forest to Gore Pond. I take one break alone, another with Jack. We climb the Cobbles for views, then on down to Cheshire.

There’s no one at the church. We hike through town to the Italian Delite restaurant where we pig out on Syrian pies, etc., all you can eat. Back to the church, we meet Father Begley, crash on the tile floor.
