I awaken in the monastery and attend the morning service, taking communion with monks from the monastery and elsewhere. Hike out late, get to a nice Catholic shrine. Then hike a reroute section of the trail, blindly following blazes. Meet a hiker from Virginia, pass Canopus Lake, Fahnstock, for Ralph's Peak Hiker's Cabin. Find my way down to cabin, meet Joe and Bill Goldstein. Snaggletooth, aka Brian Doyle, shows up. We talk too late.
