From Bobblets Gap to Cove Mountain, more Shenandoah Parkway crossings. Hit shelter, talk with Virginia Commonwealth student on hikers ahead. Push to the road, back up Fork Mountain. Break with Jack, climb back up onto Apple Orchard Mountain in the mist. Hit Cornelius Creek, Mark Carroll and Jack stop. I push on across road, up ridge, cross to Thunder Hill. Stay with the Blues Brothers and Michael P. Jones, a Mainer with whom I ultimately climb Mt. Katahdin.
