Journey Day 230 | AT Day 53

Some days in Virginia, pouring rain slowed our pace.

Some days in Virginia, pouring rain slowed our pace.

5/13/86

Raining as I hike out, Jack still in his sleeping bag. Pouring as I push to the Wilson Creek Shelter. Almost break my ankle, pass a disgruntled hiker. On to Bobblets Gap. Pouring harder, soaked. Talk with Jeanie C. from Bethesda, MD. Dry out, eat as Jack shows. We stop for the night. Wasting the day away dry in shelter when Running Richard runs down. After a quick sit-down in a lounge chair, he’s gone into the mist. Blues Brothers and Mark Carroll come in drenched. We make room, crash.
