Down to road, pass more weekenders. Up ridge past Pickle Branch Shelter, lost temporarily on rocky climb. Back on ridge. Push to Dragon’s Tooth. Great rocks. Meet AT Clubbers, rappelling with New York girl. Learn of “outlaw hike.” After break, push down to grocery. Drink beer, munch. Decide to hike the route. Meet Andy McIntosh of New York City. He heads up north, we hike through Catawba, past a nice restaurant on the road up to a forest road. Up jeep road. As darkness hits, we find shelter, crash and eat in new shelter as “outlaws.”
