Journey Day 225 | AT Day 48

Up in rain, pack wet, hike rest of climb, along a ridge in the rain. Clears, we meet a pretty girl hiking south! Down to Pine Swamp Shelter along a creek. Nice break, dry out, read log entries, including some from Eric Gallandt as Inga and Greta, beautiful Norwegian duo we’ve created to entertain ourselves. Hike on down, along behind a road, finally crossing it, back up a good climb to Bailey Gap Shelter, then  move quickly on along a rocky ridge

Quick look off Wind Rock, down to War Spur. Push on as darkness hits, solar radio keeping my mind off the long miles. Push on down in near darkness. Light of Jack’s stove signals the day’s end. Relax, shelter to ourselves.
