Journey Day 222 | AT Day 45

Jack Mallory and I took breaks at shelters as we hiked north in Virginia.

Up early, nice hike along ridge to Jenny’s Knob Shelter. Long break, then push on. Climb, road walk, lost temporarily. Hot and dry. Drop back onto trail at Dismal Creek.

More climbing, down dry to road. Pass on store, climb along Dismal Creek. Nice break on rock, wash and cool my fevered brain.

Last push past Wapiti 1, nice trout pond, to Wapiti II shelter. Animals around, get agua, cook as dark hits. Talk with Stan and Linda, crash.  Hot night!
