We attended church with Grandma Kate…

Up, we hike down, eat breakfast, go to church. Saved Christians everywhere! We ride with the preacher, Kenner, Grama Kate’s brother. Take in a Bible lesson. Asked if I am saved, I say, “Yes.”

…before the bluegrass show led by Levi Long on fiddle.

Back to Bastian. Pickin’ begins on the diner porch. Great stuff, kids to adults dance, revel in the bluegrass from a band led by Levi Long, the diner owner and former sideman for Bill Monroe(cq).

Too soon it ends. We get our packs, bid farewells to all after a six-day layover. Head back to the trail, hike to the Helvey Mills Shelter and crash.
