Journey Day 165 | PCT Day 165

Glacier Peak was in sight as I took a break in Washington.

Glacier Peak was in sight as I took a break in Washington.

9/28/85

Late start, too cold to leave sleeping bag. Push tired to Deception Pass. Then pass Keith and Jeff near Deception Lakes as they take lunch. More ridge, then up to Pieper, the latest in latest series of ups and downs.

Take a break at the end of switchback down. Glacier Peak and lake in view. Keith and Jeff catch me on my sore feet. Tough hike down!

Around lake, up to Trap Pass. Big, sweaty climb. We resolve head for Mig Lake. Immediately shits hit. Out of t.p. Worn, trotskies, I hike on. Another climb, then down, then up to lake site. Try tent poles that don't work. After communal meal around fire, crash in nice, warm tent.
