Cathedral Rock, Washington.

Pass Keith and Jeff as they get up. Hike nice cirque down to Escondido Lake. Beauty abounds as I hike tired to break.

Then down to bridge over river, where I break after five miles of switchbacking my knees into submission. Jeff and Keith catch me and we take a break with sardines left behind. Soak feet sore from Danner boots.

Again we’re up, push up climb to Deep Lake. Then on up, Surprisingly easy to Cathedral Pass. Crash under the stars.
