Jeff appears as I pack to leave. Cold, foggy.

Hike ahead, see bear running away, find tracks on path.

Cold, wet hike down, then hard climb up. Break together on walkway.

More fog, cold we hike onward. Ridges later, make too popular Dewey Lakes.

First met two hikers turned from Old Snowy by our reports. Hike past them. One more climb, see, then make it to Chinook Pass with Rainier views.

Jeff at pass, but no Keith. We make a quick camp, crash near road.
