We enjoyed great views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier and the Goat Rocks,

Hike to Sheep Lake. Catch Keith. Hike on, climbs, great views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier, Goat Rocks, nearby surroundings.

Hike hard up, around Crystal Lake ski area. Break as Keith catches me again at Big Crow Basin.

All break, horse riders gives us food. Onward, running down.  Keith catches me again. We stop at Arch Rock trail, not Arch Rock. As we lounge, realize its another 7+ miles to the shelter. Up we push hard to Arch Rock Shelter water.

Then on. It’s a race against darkness. Out of wilderness, we get a preview of logging to come. Make shelter as darkness falls. Argument over sleeping spots. Eat and crash.
