Journey Day 157 | PCT Day 157

We hiked back onto the trail and camped among alpine lakes.

Up early, Keith and I eat breakfast. Mail boxes, buy a new shirt. Finish packing, then begin hitch up to White Pass. Get a ride halfway, then to pass from local ski guys. Pass Jeff still walking all the way from Packwood.

Wait at pass, gear arrives in truck. Take off. Nice to be back on the trail after days in town and the Yelverton shelter.

Warm climb up to lake area. Through forest, past lakes to Benchmark Lake. First come across a girl whose friend met Jeff  in Oregon and an old man. Make camp, fingers numb with cold. Keith makes a fire. We’re apparently still enjoying each other’s company.

Jeff never catches up to us. We eat and crash.
