Journey Day 156 | PCT Day 156

Updating eight days of my journal was easier since most were less than memorable except for the adversities.

9/19/85

Logging truck alarm awakens us. We hike hard downhill, wondering where Keith is. Innocent talk with National Forest Service guy discerns we’re listed as lost hikers. So laughing but uneasy we finish hike. Keith was concerned to the extent he alerted the forest service about us. He dropped out at Walupt Lake Trail.

We hit forest service office, then breakfast. Get Keith on phone, resolve to meet back in Packwood. Laundry, on phone, Keith shows up. We’re all happy and relieved.  Get rooms at hotel. Shower great. Organize, Jeff starts hike to White Pass as Keith and I rest, get it together.

Call Mom, shield her from whole truth. Eat good Mexican food. I’m feeling good to be back with hiking buddy. Keith and I seem close again after lay-off, intense situation. More good talk, munching. Late night TV watching nice after such a long lay-off.

Update eight days in journal. Easy since most was cold, wet, cold, wet, miserable, viewless, less than memorable except for the adversities.
