Journey Day 155 | PCT Day 155

The storm cleared, but the way remained unclear and we learned we were the subject of a search.

9/18/85

Up to clear skies! But hike ends where we lose the trail, too much ice on the ridge with worse ahead.

Amazing views. We hike back, head down. Meet hunter. Hike down, bad trail. Meet trail crew. Hike on. Finally at road. Crew drives off, Jeff and I eat.

NY City couple, stops, hike up. We talk with hunter, eventually hike on down road.

Hunter with one-legged girl drink, stop and give us food. Stopped with horse trail some time. Says he’ll bring us back drinks, never shows.

We hike past dark. Crash just off road, me under stars for the first time in two weeks.
