Up early, we meet at the table for various breakfasts. Christi Gayle ready long before PCT vets.  We hike along the lake bank to a road, separate at our trailhead. Through horse camp, down trail, we hike good to Diamond View Lake. Today Chuck joins my chatter. Nice break at the lake, more talk.

Onward some climbing through dry forests on a dusty path. Eventually hit Trapper Creek. Hike this rushing creek’s bank down to tracks.

Across to short road, down to resort. Ice cream, talk with old resort tenant. Father and Chuck go on, I sit with Roland and Steve Werner of British Columbia. I get all my mail, boxes together,  hike down to spot where they make a huge spaghetti meal over the fire. Toast on coals, true woodsmen. They’re hiking the other way in no particular hurry.

Relax after meal. I crash under the stars, lights, trains, other noise in the background. Smoke from fire, but I eventually drift off!
