Up early, wet. Hike out with only chocolate, prunes for breakfast. Big breakfast at Trough Creek. Weather soaked. Dry at spot on sunny ridge.

Jeff comes up, we meet again at Squaw (or Squad) Valley Creek bridge. Lost Old Lockjaw with last quart of water. Of course, creek sudsy. Upset, then down creek to Cabin Creek for acceptable water.

Treat, hang sleeping bag from pack and off. Another climb, 1,600 feet up to Girard Ridge. Nice views as hike along sides of Shasta, Crags, volcano.

Make spring. Get water, hike to ridge spot. Miss Dave tonight, plan to see him early tomorrow. Dewy night, not good for sleep.
