I hiked back onto the trail through northern New Mexico.

I arise and hike over to breakfast, over to the office to settle up, return Razor's Edge after reading the final pages in the sun. Back, pack up, bring pack to dining hall, from whence I settle up, return book, talk jobs with Joanne. Get last meal, say goodbye, getting fuel from one guy when I end up getting it from Tim. Finally enroute, with views back to where I've come from. Short detour past horses, then back, over the ridge to the Living Museum. Miss Jody the Ohioan, check out the exhibits, sad, captive creatures. Follow route across road, along fence enjoying views. Then finally hit road through Chama River Canyon, which I hike into the dark, finding a spot on soggy mud flats for an under-the-stars site. Sleep listening to the Chama.
