Journey Day 454 | CDT Day 117

We saw snow every month, including here in October in Southern Colorado.

10/9/87

A dust of snow is on the Divide. (We've seen snow each month.) We begin hiking along an exposed ridge dressed in all our clothes. It's a cold morning with views of Ouray, Chipeta. Down on a jeep road to Marshall Pass, passing a fluorescent fellow with a camera. Observe arriving hunters, break at the road through Marshall Pass.

Sometimes trail signs helped sow the way.

Follow Colorado Trail signs, steep climbs with sunny views to Antora Peak. Cross the Arkanado Grande Peak Triple Divide, then descend to weak springs for lunch. Steep climb around Windy Peak, Leonard's foot a problem, Laurie's gone for the day.

Descend to Tank Seven Creek, which I pass on for springs up in Cameron Park. But they are dry and cattle tromped. See Laurie down in a meadow. She says there's water in a stream. So we converse and camp there. I sleep under the stars.
