Journey Day 420 | CDT Day 83
9/5/87
Carl the Human Alarm again sets the day's pace with an early rising. Over to breakfast, same Mexican waitress, then to post office for mailbacks, etc. Call Mom, talk with Kelli (my brother's first wife in town for John Schuld's wedding) and Grama. Then watch "Legal Eagles," leaving me hot for Darryl Hannah. Up to laundry, nearly out of town. Wash clothes, bag, little child talks to me, machines foil me. On way back, excellent chili rellenos at El Rancho Inn. Down row of hotels past and present, shut down business of gloomy economy that can't or won't support a bookstore. Fear for literacy!
Back to store before "Agnes of God," enjoy full store selection. Salami and swiss cheese bagel sandwiches milk and deluxe chocolate grahams while watching this intense movie. Feeling tired from doing nothing. Eat more, update journal for past two days. Crash after the movie, while others watch old flick. Awaken for Saturday Night Live with Willie Nelson. Back to sleep when there's no viewing worth doing.
