Journey Day 368 | CDT Day 31
7/12/87
Trucks slowly pass, but only a cop any bother and he's no trouble. So we're up with tents now frozen! Cold packing, cold breakfast. We get Tucklers' day packs and climb roads back to trail.
Early on, a dog with a pal joins our group. He lasts the entire day. We can't convince him to head home. On our way back from the rest area, he chases the truck. But the battle continues. It's a nice day without packs.
Cold, eventually sun warms us and we end up too hot. Good view to Anaconda-Pintlars and Red Mountain. But 21 miles on a road is a bit much. Tucklers meet us, and we hike to road, dog in tow. Shuttle again to campground. Cook, pitch, talk. Growing energy of the meeting of the minds. But must crash for manana's foray.
