Journey Day 279 | AT Day 102

A teetering monument to Shay’s Rebellion in passed on July 1, 1986.

7/1/86
Up over Jug End, down to roads past a marker for Shay's Rebellion, on down road for too much food at restaurant at U.S. 7. Burgers, fruit, pastry and two milk shakes. Way too full, I return to the trail. No water, rocky route, socked-in by forest. Bad hike, exacerbated by lack of water. Meet June Dreamer, two day hikers. Find note from John Boone, hiker with whom I'd hiked the Cumberland Valley. Hike down to water at Turning Point bed and breakfast, then back up past a pond to the Mt. Wilcox shelter.
