Journey Day 238 | AT Day 61

I hiked along, as well as above the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.

Up early to get Barbie to her car. We part, a darling burden lifted. Jack and I hike on. I  space out and find myself coming out the same place we went in. Take BRP, bummed cars whiz by. Make side trail back to the A.T. Hike on to Humpback Rocks. Tired day.

Come down near Visitor’s Center, keep pushing up Elk Mountain. Tough blowdowns, past homes on the ridge. Drop down to the parkway, hike through woods between roads to a highway crossing called Rockfish Gap.

Rain increases as I hike the road, walk into Ho Jo’s, find Jack. Big munch. Call Deb Bavetz, friend from BG. She rescues us, we cruise back and crash in her apartment in Richmond.
