Push back to the trail, up to Old Orchard Shelter. Paul shows up. We also find Andy again. Rex gets naked by the road. Push on down to Hurricane Campground. Step on glasses, push on. After nice break at campground, up to road crossing, up again, then drop to Trimpi Shelter. Wimpy to Trimpi Day!

Joe (13 miler), Jeff (hiker from Mass. walking to S.C.), Larry J. from Yonkers, N.Y., Rex, make a jovial crew. Crash, but can’t sleep so listen to radio jams. At midnight, awaken to bad leg stiffness, move into shelter out of threatening rain. But it doesn’t until the morning.
