Hikers relaxed over beers at the Inn in Damascus.

Up early from foam bed, eat breakfast, hit stores, post office again. Slackpackers appear with Tucker. Eat again, meet Charles Trivette, money collector for the hostel. Write cards, take care of business. Pack, head to Inn for beer with Slackpackers, Tucker, Rockin’ Rex Maitke and the jukebox.

After six beers, Rex and I hike off. After some rough early walking, climb away from Damascus. make rail car on the Virginia Creeper Trail before crashing.
