Journey Day 207 | AT Day 30

The blossoms of mountain laurel decorated trailsides.

Surprisingly tough hike to Dennis Cove Road. Hot, sweaty ups and downs. My knees kick up. Meet Bill Prescott, the Christian Hiker, and his friend Paul Diorio from Connecticut. Bill runs up the last summit to the Moreland Gap Shelter. We take a break. The rain starts, a little mutt follows us up the trail.
We push on in a light rain. Head for Della Sue's. We push over the mountain, down to the road, can't find Della Sue's. Push on down the road to the Laurel Gorge. Hike down to Laurel Falls Shelter. Then to the falls. Munch. Paul hikes up. We rap. Time to crash with thoughts of walking to Damascus in the rain.
