Journey Day 194 | AT Day 17

Hiking alone, I enjoyed high places in the Smokies.

Rainy night means misty (Smoky) morning hike down to Newfound Gap. Break in crowded lookout lot, then back up. Pass the Spartans and Jack at the shelter,  beginning two days alone. Get off at Charlie’s Bunion, Sawteeth, hike 20 miles to Tri-Corner Shelter where two University of Tennessee students are my company. They party. I tune in, tune out after my first 20 miler of the hike.
