Journey Day 121 | PCT Day 121
8/15/85
Early to rise although late to bed. Hangover unfamiliar. Motivate, cup of java eases my mind. Eat at nice café. Shrimp and avocado omelet. Line too long for theatre tickets, learn of option to get before show.
Get cash advance, wander Ashland. Hit bookstore for “Black Elk Speaks.” Find Jones back at hostel. David leaves. Keith and I talk. he heads out for later pizza meeting.
This is stretching into long stay. Get pizza, walk to park for pizza picnic. Lounge. Part from Keith for cool drink. On return, he’s gone. Alone again naturally…
No answer at Way’s. I go to post office to see register that’s not there. Drinking margaritas at sidewalk café I drank at last night as I update.
Call Mom. Phone booth, like so often, a sweatbox. Call ended, I’m back at hostel. Shower, then back to the streets.
Barbecue by Lithia Creek. Two movies including hilarious “Gods Must be Crazy” and Truffaut’s 1st effort, “The 400 Blows.” Catch a few tunes from a live band, back to hostel. Converse with hosteler Dan, then hit the sack.
