Journey Day 8 | PCT Day 8
4/24/85
A good day which began badly as we arose early and hiked off in sunny surroundings. Apparently yesterday’s toils were still being felt. I was sluggish, stopping. Finally made Warner Springs in a pool of sweat.
Dumped items:
tent (keeping fly)
jeans
wool shirt
almanac
extra flashlight
Warner Springs was a neat break. A resort on the move in the middle of nowhere.
Rested and drank pop. Afternoon hiking went well and we made a spot 14-15 miles down the trail. Our first fire, and the feeling of a good day under our belts, made the night relaxing.
