Appalachian Trail

A call to Dr. Norman Briggs, who I’d met the year before on the Pacific Crest Trail, was the closest I came to hiking.

We spent a day below the Appalachian Trail in Virginia.

5/23/86

Up early again, wash sleeping bag, read the paper. Lazy. Big, late breakfast puts me back to sleep. Make plans to go, call Dr. Briggs. Go to Grand Canyon movie, eat Mexican, hit a bar, come home and crash.
