After a quick stop at Snoqualmie Pass, I hiked north toward Canada.

9/25/85

Another early start. Bad trail. I’m dragging as I slog through the mud. Pass Jeff’s camp unknowingly. Pass two elderly hikers who tip me on the trail ahead. Finally hike down, despite trail obliterations, including a rock slide from a logging road.

Meet Jeff, hit restaurant at Snoqualmie Pass. Keith’s across the street, having settled his camera problems. We eat big time. Across the street, my tent poles haven’t arrived. But the rest of my expected mail has. I pack it, fix pack zippers, straps.

Keith, Jeff leave me. I wait on the poles. Just as I send Bob a letter that I haven’t gotten them, UPS and the poles show. Are they the right ones?

Finish update, up the trail.

From Stevens Pass: Meet group with two good-lookers, then a bearded man and woman before crashing on the trail.
