Journey Day 143 | PCT Day 143

Bad weather continued to cloud my hike north into Oregon.

Frozen fingers tie together pack. I hike out fairly early, very cold and wet. Weather clears as I pass Warm Springs River crossing. I take a break, dry gear.

Off again, weather improves. Take another break after good push in field near guard station at Timothy Lake. Hike up, around Timothy Lake. Logging visible, but one nice view.

More hiking, pass horse riders. There to end of the lake, hear clanking of cowbells. Hike on through recently logged area, find trail to Little Crater Lake. Fence didn’t keep out one cow.

Hike on to campground, meet Jim Gieler and his wife Lucille. They offer me dinner, I eat too much ravioli from a can and five hot dogs. We talk, sit at fire. Friends show up, I crash.
